I love working with Animal Totems.
They give me a deep sense of comfort, guidance, and direction. For example, a couple of days ago, a young deer arrived in my parent’s backyard. Just before I took a photo, the deer looked straight at me and held my gaze for several seconds. It was as if time stood still. We connected.
Since I know from experience that this encounter with Nature was no accident, I googled “Animal Totem Deer”. Then, eagerly read this message:
“When you have the deer as a spirit animal, you are able to bring gentleness and grace into every aspect of your life, even in the most challenging moments. By inspiration from the deer’s qualities, you can achieve ambitious goals and tackle difficult situations smoothly … with a touch of gentleness and grace.”
It was the perfect message and one I intuitively needed to hear. After reading it, I felt myself absorb, exhale and relax (always a good sign).
A wise Elder once told me that Nature is constantly communicating with us; on many levels. As humans we are busy; easily distracted, and often miss Nature’s subtle guidance that is so generously offered.
“The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe; to match your nature with Nature”. – Joseph Campbell
Today I listened, and for a brief moment, allowed my heart to match the heartbeat of a young deer. Gratitude.
Enjoy the day!
